What Drug Panels are tested in an Oral Drug Test?

Oral Drug Testing is available in an Instant Rapid Drug Test or can be sent to Lab for confirmation testing.

This drug test option is an effective and accredited method of determining recent drug use with initial screening results being available within 2-3 working days of sample collection. If required, confirmation drug testing of non-negative screen results are available within a further 3 to 5 working days.

The Standard panel of 5 drug groups is listed below:

  • Amphetamines, including Methamphetamine and Ecstasy (MDMA)
  • Benzodiazepine (including Diazepam and Temazepam)
  • Cannabis
  • Cocaine
  • Opiates

The Laboratory drug test can be combined with a Breath Alcohol Screen to meet your drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Each Drug Test Donor is legally identified at the appointment, oral fluid samples are then collected, sealed and bar coded to strict Chain of Custody Protocols. Samples are then processed at a laboratory, where an initial screening drug test is performed.

The analysis is performed against predefined cut-off levels for all drugs tested. The drug test is performed under strict chain of custody protocols, by fully trained and certified sample collection officers. The test is available at 911 Drug Testing, our Nationwide Network or via the mobile collection service.

Laboratory drug test reports are generated and issued for all samples that screen negative. Initial drug screening takes up to 2-3 working days from the appointment.

Samples that screen non-negative are issued with a ‘Undergoing Further Analysis’ report and require additional Confirmation Testing. Confirmation Testing is required to identify the drug or metabolite found in the sample and the quantity present.

Any sample which contains the presence of a drug or metabolite over the cut-off level, will be issued a positive laboratory report, providing evidence of drug abuse. Dependent on the circumstances, the laboratory report may specify whether the drug and its quantity can be deemed therapeutic i.e. in line with declared medication. Further investigation to confirm this can be undertaken by utilizing a Medical Review Officer (MRO).

All laboratory drug test reports are provided in secure PDF format via email and/or hard copy.

*Confirmation testing may take up to a further 5 working days. Additional charges may apply for confirmation testing per donor depending on your requirements.

Why and when would you use this drug test?

911 Drug Testing recommends this test for circumstances in which a short detection window for the presence of drugs applies and secure toilet facilities are not available. It is a legally defensible drug test.

The Oral Fluid Laboratory Screen & Confirmation Drug Test can be used for random drug testing and pre-employment drug testing.

In addition, this highly accurate drug test analysis can be used in a variety of civil or legal sectors (e.g. Social Services) along with private individuals to monitor drug use, or provide evidence that drugs are not detected in an individual’s system i.e. proof of abstinence.

Organizations and individuals choose the Oral Fluid Laboratory Screen & Confirmation Drug Test option as it provides the following benefits:

  • No additional cost for confirmation drug testing – included in the screen price
  • Special secure facilities are not required for sample collection unlike urine drug testing
  • Suitable for mass screening of workforce

There are many benefits in using the Oral Fluid Laboratory Screen & Confirmation Drug Test. However, there are limitations that must be taken into consideration before deciding if this is the correct drug test for your circumstances.

  • Detection window; If you require evidence of longer term drug use, Urine Laboratory Screen & Confirmation Drug Testing or Hair Drug Testing may be more appropriate for your needs.
  • If you require a larger number of drugs to be tested, the Urine Laboratory Screen & Confirmation Drug Test may be more suitable.
